These are four AA lithium batteries complete with charger. This is my first experience with lithium AA batteries, so I had to do some research to understand the relative pros and cons compared to Nimh batteries. The main benefit of lithium batteries is that they have no charging memory. This is very different from Nimh batteries where I find it necessary to completely discharge a battery prior to recharging to maintain full performance, otherwise the capacity quickly diminishes. From this perspective, lithium batteries like these are miles better. **One point of safety here is that you should always use these batteries with a lithium charger like the one provided with these batteries, rather than any Nimh or Nicd charger you might have, and vice versa. Never use this charger with Nimh or Nicd batteries, because they are very different and not compatible. This is important information highlighted on the box. The charge time here is fast, taking less than 2 hours for a complete charge, which is lightning fast compared to my Technoline when discharging/charging similar capacity Nimh batteries can take a whole day. It connects via USB, and I am not sure of the ideal power output, but it seemed to work well when connected to a 20W port on a GaN charger. There is a claimed life of 1600+ charges before needing replacement, which sounds like a lot but may be feasible. After all, we recharge the lithium batteries on our phones hundreds of times, and they last years. The charger itself is compact and there are no options, because none are needed. Just plug it in and watch it charge. The lights are red while charging, then turn green full. It will also support AAA lithium batteries. The batteries themselves are ideal for all manner of purposes, particularly those that require high drainage, because these will give full power to the end with no gradual fall off in performance. I tried one of these in a photographic light meter with an option to see the battery level, and it showed as full, whereas my Nimh batteries are never above 80%, even when fully charged. They are absolute stars in my Canon flashgun as well. Time will tell how long they last in practice, but a charger and four batteries for less than £30 at present seems like reasonable value, and the same charger could also be used with other battery brands if needed.

I got this to replace the rechargable batteries in my land line phone. I am very happy with both the charger and battery life. You can also use these batteries and other products but you do need to check as not all products will accept rechargeable batteries as they overheat. Very happy and would recommend..

Despite the almost ubiquitous USB chargers these days, we still have plenty of AA-battery powered gadgets so I jumped at the chance to review these rechargeables and associated charger. First off, yes, it is USB-powered, so the unit is very compact and space saving. The four supplied batteries are distinctive, but to make doubly sure that when they do run out no-one just chucks them in the recycling, I've wound a bit of masking tape around each one (and written the date of charging on, so we can see how long they last and how often they've been charged). I was a bit surprised the charging station gives no initial indication of the state of the batteries - that would be a useful feature. With the batteries in place I turned on the charger and all four batteries came up with red lights. (Now, I had to double-check with my partner that they were red, being red/green colour-blind and the LED indicators so small it was hard for me to tell. Manufacturers please note: 4% of men have trouble distinguishing red and green, and the smaller the light the harder it is for us. I would have preferred either two separate lights, or switch from flashing to steady). Using a 20W USB charger, two of the batteries were fully charged (green) after 2 hours. Checking half an hour later, all the LEDs were off - which didn't seem right. Turning the power off and on again (does this charger run Windows?) all lights came back on, but all were now red. Checking a further half an hour later, all were green so hopefully all charged. They are all now installed in a device that requires 4 batteries, and it is working well, so am assuming all 4 are fine. It's too early to tell what the life of the batteries will be like in use, or how well / how many times they re-charge. Four stars as though it works, there seemed to be an issue with the indicator lights, which were not the easiest to see.

This is absolutely value for money. The battery came with charger, surprisingly, I first Thought it has no charger in it the way it was packaged but it was a big surprise when I oppen the box and say the charger in there. The battery life us perfect and functionality is amazing.

I didn’t realise that lithium and NiMH battery chargers are different so a big error on my behalf here. It comes with 4 x 2000mAh lithium batteries, which are the only thing I have been able to charge. There are no instructions in the box, just the back of the box giving some detail on what it can do. From what I can gather it should only be used to charge lithium batteries, of which I don’t have any others to test. My existing batteries are all NiMH 2800 and 3000, and so it wouldn’t charge these or my 1100mAh AAA batteries either. I am no expert on rechargeables (obviously) but I just didn’t realise - every day is a school day. The red lights just kept flashing and flashing, whereas with the 2000mAh lithium batteries the lights are solid red while charging, and solid green when charged. So, currently not much use for me for anything other than charging the batteries that came with it. Perhaps some information on different types of batteries and warnings added to the description would assist other buyers.
